Under the new scanner “Plex TV series” , when I modify the file name of the TV series to the standard format, the library structure of the TV series cannot be updated after the database is automatically scanned. For example, the two-season TV series is recognized as one season, and there is no change after standardizing it. But when using the old scanner "
Plex Series Scanner", it can be automatically re-identified as two seasons.

Then I renamed the directory.

This TV series is still recognized as two season unless I delete the entire library and add it again.
But when I use old agent from the beginning.image

Can you try naming your folders using the way recognised by Plex?

How are the files named inside the folders?

Even if I change files name strictly according to the rules under its supervision, it can’t be updated.

It is useless to refresh its metadata. Delete the entire library and add it again what is helpful.

Please check the latest reply. I don’t think this is a setup problem, but the new scanner can’t refresh it after detecting changes in file name and directory structure.

Still won’t work. Is this an example or a common problem?

Temporary solutions I’m using :

  1. Switch the library to the old agent “The Movie Database” .
  2. Add a space to the file directory name. Because manual scanning of the library cannot be refreshed.
  3. After the library is refreshed, delete the space and switch back to the new agent.
    Fortunately, not all episodes can’t be directly identified, otherwise I would be crazy.
