I get "“An error occured while attempting to play this video. Please try restarting both the Plex Media Server and this app.”

Note: 1.18.7.2457 is the current public Plex Media Server version, and he’s using the same app version you are. I don’t know what server version your friend is using now, but it’s very possible you are experiencing this same problem as this other user.

Keep in mind there are multiple bugs on the Fire TV app right now, so I don’t know if what you are trying to play might be a file that would be effected by one of those bugs…
