The progress bar stops at the end of part 1 of the extended movie and you can't use it in part 2

For anyone who can offer some insight or advice…
I have added an extended version (4k) of Lord of the Rings and it spans two files. I have named them with the file extensions (2001) (Imdb-tt0120737) - Pt1 and (2001) (Imdb-tt0120737) - Pt2. Plex has handled them correctly and they are joined and play as intended. however, the progress bar stops at the end of part one (even though the total duration time displayed at the bottom is for both parts added together). If I try to FF or RW in part 2 it immediately takes me back to the start of part 2! Such a shame that what is so close to being handled really well is falling down with this issue. Any ideas on how to resolve this? Although, given that everything else works as intended i expect it will be down to Plex to put right behind the scenes!

Join them into one file. Plex does not handle multi-part media well. You’ll have a better experience by joining them into one file.

Thank you for the advice. I’ll go and learn how to join the files together. it is a pity thought, as it is nearly working correctly.
