  • am running into an issue with the new agent, I use thetvdb for my primary standard. The show “The Scooby-Doo Show” The Scooby-Doo Show - TheTVDB.com however is matched with a different show The Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Hour and there isnt a way to fix that match.

Looks correct for the show you linked. The show description says it was part of The Scooby-Doo-Dynomutt Hour.

From the show description:

The Scooby Doo Show premiered on ABC in September 1976 as part of The Scooby-Doo-Dynomutt Hour, in which new episodes of Scooby Doo shared an hour with a superhero dog named Dynomutt. It was a revamped version of Scooby Doo, Where Are You? which started on CBS in 1969.

If you meant a different show, add the year to the show folder and file names. Alternately, add the TMDB or TVDB ID to the show folder name.

There are 27 different TV series for Scooby Doo. Adding additional information to the show folder & file names will help Plex find the correct information.

If you look at the name of the TVDB show, it labeled as “The Scooby-Doo Show” and plex is matching it, but Plex’s agent is using “The Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Hour” is there a way to use the TVDB naming? There are several cases where a show was aired as 1 block, but the TVDB has it split into different shows. Underdog comes to mind, they had a different 5 minute show squished between underdog episodes/parts.

The Movie Database has it listed as [The Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Hour (The Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Hour (TV Series 1976-1977) — The Movie Database (TMDB)), and Plex prefers that show name for some reason.

I don’t see a way to have Plex use the TVDB show name. I tried changing some of the episode ordering, etc options on my server, but it did not make a difference.

You can manually edit the show name and lock the changes. Plex should then remember the changes when you apply server updates, refresh metadata, etc. Not ideal, but the only way I can see to have the show appear as you want.

If you’re in the TV show library, mouse over the show’s poster and select the pencil icon in the lower left corner of the poster. This will bring up the edit window. Make any desire changes, then click on the lock to lock them in place.
