I’m looking into some random spikes in network behavior and found Plex showing these randomly in the logs while scanning new media.

The show 'Cornwall Air 999' has unmatched leaves, and show was matched, so we'll refresh season id(s) 685740.

This is just a part of a much larger list of series that Plex can’t Match, I’ve tried to do a manual match via the web app and checked some of the series and while most show the title etc correctly some episodes don’t have metadata etc.

I’ve checked the other related posts and made sure both Media and Metadata have the correct user permissions etc but issue still persists. Not matched episodes are playing fine so I’m not really keen on going through the whole list of series to manually unmatch and match again (tested that and while posters are being populated for Episodes no ) or do a Plex dance. Is it possible to disable the continues refreshing of metadata for those entries with unmatched leaves? Or give those who don’t care about it an advanced option to disable it?

There is not but I will pass the idea along.

I’m guessing that possibly the shows are using TMDB episode ordering but they likely don’t have data for all the episodes. (which seems to be true for the Cornwall Air 999 show) If not already set to it you can set those show individually to use TVDB aired order or set the library as a whole to use TVDB ordering.

(to be clear I am talking about the ordering setting of show or library, not the agent/scanner settings of library)

It should use TVDB as I have set that in the agent / scanner settings of the library. I’ve started to add the tvdb ID in the filenames but these don’t have that yet. Still if that was it I would still need to go through everything on the list and it seems to be around 60 or so. And some of those are for sure not on TVDB (some masterclasses etc) an option to disable it (doesn’t need to be in the dashboard, an advanced one to add to the preference file manually wound be fine in my case) Just don’t care much for anything on the list to go and change anything as it still plays fine, just don’t want those bandwidth peaks as I got limited up / down since I moved the Plex setup from Hetzner to my own place.

The TVDB agent is an old legacy agent. that is not really ever updated anymore.

that is only used by the new Plex TV series and Plex Movie agent.

Right on. I can’t make any promises but thanks for explaining your use case for it. Possibly there is some way I don’t know about and will ask folks.

Sorry for the confusion, meant the new Plex TV Series and Plex Movie agent. It’s a semi fresh install as it was a good time as ever to move everything to the new agents from the start.
