The Three Stooges not showing up under Plex TV Series in Agent

I am not sure where to go with this. I have looked at other people talking about The Three Stooges (1934) but not this issue. Ever since plex has upgraded to “Plex TV Series” as agent instead of just putting The TVDB. I have noticed that the Meta Data cant find “The Three Stooges (1934)” at all. I have tried everything and it still cant find it. When I put the “TVDB” as the agent is does. It is worded exactly as it is in the TVDB. The folder and all its content is named exactly as the TVDB is. When I change the agent to “The TV DB” it tells me to “Upgrade Matching” Please fix this issue. The Three Stooges (1934) has not been recognized by the Meta Data and refresh Library and even going in and “Fix Match” function in a long time. So as for now its just grayed out in my library. Frustrating.

This worked instantly for me (new agent):

FileBot grabbed the name TVDB used - The Three Stooges:

FileBot didn’t add a (YEAR) field because there isn’t a (YEAR) field in the name:

I AM using MP4 Files.
I DO have the LMA Hack engaged:

New Agent - Edit Library/Advanced/Disable: Prefer Local Metadata

Old Agents:

After the Name/Structure ‘Fix’ Refresh Metadata. If the show remains unmatched or problematic - Plex Dance it:

All Steps
In Order
Or it Won’t Work

Save Time - Let FileBot get the Exact Name - in milliseconds:

If you struggle to find a match using the title you can also try using the id from various source (e.g. tvdb, tmdb).

The syntax is described here: Migrating a TV library to use the new Plex TV Series Agent/Scanner | Plex Support

For The Three Stooges you could put tvdb-79173 into the title field and search that.

Thanks for everyone’s help the settings are the same as everyone’s suggested. What seemed to work is from drzoidberg33. I ended up doing a search on tvdb-79173 and that worked. The strange thing is it finds it but the Poster is totally different then the ones that are posted and you can choose from. I have no Idea why its picking up this way and why when just searching “The Three Stooges” it picks up nothing. It works if I revert back to legacy. But not the new “Plex TV Series” agent.

If that’s your show/file name - it’s the wrong name:

Perfectly fine when using the new agent. It will use any matching hint it can get.

I have used The Three Stooges as the name and nothing

No, it won’t:

Sometimes, if Refresh Metadata doesn’t do it, you have to force the show to reboot a new name - with The Plex Dance:

Make sure to use The Good Name before…

All Steps
In Order
or it won’t work

I have taken the year out still nothing.

Unfortunately - your Show/Ffile name is wrong
Here’s what happens instantly with the correct name:

No Fix Match Necessary.
It just works.

If I name The Three Stooges in my Folder The Three Stooges (1934). It will not pick anything up. If I name it The Three Stooges it will do a search on anything related. I have never ran into this before all my other folders have dates with the name for the folder and there are no issues. This one is the only one with this issue since I switched to the now Plex format.

The importance of using the correct name - the first time - may soon be impressed upon you.

Remove show from library
Scan Library
Empty Trash
Clean Bundles
Fix Name
Replace show in library
Scan Library

Watch the Stooges.
