There is no "MANAGE LIBRARY"!

How can it be that all instructions about adding my library are wrong? (Well I’ve added my Solution in “EDIT” at end of post),

So I just want to tell my plex server where my own media is on the same machine. Couldn’t do it! This is Windows 10, 64 bit. I can install and access the server, log in, and it seems to be working. But all instructions to “manage” my library are impossible to follow, because there is no such menu item! I can click the “+ Your Media” option. That just opens a page that says “Add your media to Plex”, but the only option there is “Get Plex Media Server”. What?

I had gone round and round, even totally uninstalling and re-installing. I’ve installed the server, (version 1.41.3.9314-a0bfb8370-x86_64.) and I can access the web page. I can even access the server on ROKU devices in the house on the same network. But when I go back to the PC and try to add MY media to the server, there is no option of any kind to add my library. And this seems to happen a lot, because when I type my problem into GOOGLE, all I see are discussions similar to mine, with no solution.

Also, the plex website tells of a “setup wizard”. Well there never was any such thing. I think a lot of things change, and the pages explaining how to do things are no longer valid.

I did find in the “tools” menu something called “Manage Library Access”. NOPE! Clicking that just gives me a screen to grant library access to friends.

EDIT: So here’s what I finally did that worked. I fully uninstalled the plex server again, then using “REGEDIT”, I searched for and deleted every key related the “PLEX”, which the windows “uninstall” left behind. This time after installing and running the server’s web page, the menu on the HOME screen now included the “MORE >” option at the end. There I was able to right click on MOVIES, and from there right click on “Manage Library”, and then I could “Add Folders” and tell the program where my media was. Also on the basic home menu, I could now click the 3 dots where it said “Movies” and from there choose “manage Library” and “Edit”, and there too I could add my folder, and browse for it easilly. I don’t know why these “Manage Libraries” options were not available before, and I don’t know why the all important “MORE >” button was not available. But obviously something got clobbered in the registry on my first install. So hopefully this will help others with this same problem.
