“There was an unexpected error during playback” on all media player-windows

All media suddenly crashes due to an unexpected error after a few minutes. started happening after latest update, if I install an older version Plex-1.74.1.3913-9baac009 i don´t have this issue.
something in the latest update is not working as it should. for now i´ll have to keep reinstalling the older version so that I can see my shows and movies.

There is a problem with the hosted version of Plex Web (app.plex.tv) and the current version of Plex Desktop, and possibly how they interact with PMS v1.40.x.
