TheTVDB metadata - V3 API and related issues

I just added a new TV series and it all worked perfectly. FYI.

It partially works for me.

The basic metadata is being downloaded along with main posters for the show, but I’m still not getting posters for individual seasons of a show - each season is using the same main poster for the show and when I try to manually pick another, there’s nothing there.

update metedata for the 7 new series added yesterday yields nothing. still only tex information bout serier/episodes

Give them time please.

Just added an episode and the correct poster is finally showing up. It might be fixed, I can stop correcting the metadata manually…

Edit: nevermind, I added another episode and the poster did not show up. So they might still be wroking on it.

Resolved on my server now

Not resolved on my server. I ran a refresh metadata and still no posters, series or episode art.

Probably not helping that every time someone reports it resolved for him-/herself, everyone for whom it’s not resolved yet runs yet another Refresh Metadata task. Let’s be patient and wait for the official word that it’s resolved.

I would like to ask anyone still experiencing issues

  1. Refer all diagnostic efforts here:
  1. There is no benefit from reporting ā€œWorks for meā€. thanks.

A post was merged into an existing topic: TheTVDB V3 - Post grade issues

I can say that flushing the DNS cache has not fixed the issue as they have described - >

We’ve made contact with many add-on developers, including PLEX with hopes to upgrade to TLS. Clearing your DNS caches would also help.

HI - Thx for all this Info – 1 quick question – If someone has lots of movies with metadata from movieDb and they delete the cache as described to fix the TV shows, arent’s you also deleting all the movie data (some of which was rematched and fixed etc…)… Is there a way someone can indicate how to delete only the data related to the TV show and TVDb issue to avoid having to re-fetch all the movie data that is fine – Thx in adavance

Deleting only the sub-folder Caches/com.plexapp.agents.thetvdb should do it

We found 2 hosts of theirs which are misbehaving.

We’re following up now to resolve.

  1. The error printed says ā€˜SSL’ but it’s TLS so not a point.
  2. Agents in Python is about to be obsolete. Nothing to be gained by upgrading. (Remember, Plug-ins in general have been deprecated)

Would this be a good idea if you get the Metadata but no Covers?

I’m not sure, but if the log messages are anything to go by, images are not cached there

DEBUG (networking:198) - Not caching 'https://thetvdb.com/banners/posters/275274-12_t.jpg' (content type 'image/jpeg' not cacheable in Agent plug-ins)

Inspecting the only 4 files over 10Kb I have on my folder, none of them are images either, so I’d guess not.

I am getting new images since TVDB fixed it on their end, but haven’t regressed from my modded com.plexapp.agents.thetvdb yet.

@ChuckPa is it ok to attach the file until an official Plex fix is released?

Please just go easy here. I appreciate the offers to help / post.

  1. Posters / covers are the known issue. – we’re on it
  2. There isn’t anything anyone really needs to post at this point. We can see the specific TheTVDB hosts which are having troubles.
  3. We’re working it out with them.

So is this still not fixed?? I want plex to pick up a new thing that I added to my plex  and of course it won’t add match it at all cus it can’t identify it as a show. I’m not rushing just making sure its not fixed yet.
