ETA on a push to the Public update channel? I don’t want to switch my configuration to the Beta channel just for this fix.
Please open a new thread for this. I actually see this quite often from Plex but it has nothing at all to do with Posters not downloading due to TheTVDB metadata API changes.
thanks. Yes - as per my comment - was just a quick check with ChuckPA before raising a new thread as I know he is active in this thread and it may have been a quick fix.
No update planned for NVIDIA Shield? Still nothing on Play Store… Thanks.
My synology is also working again with 2058. Thanks @ChuckPa
Please stay on topic.
One problem per thread.
(saves what little sanity I have left)
Works on 2058 and Synology just for Seasons where didn’t got the Main Series cover during the API trouble.
If you already got the Main Cover during the API failure at Season 05 (NCIS Season 16), so you can’t get any new Covers, even if you change the Folder name, clean Troubleshooting Data, rescan and match them manually.
No new Covers appears.
BTW: Why we can’t scan for new Metadate inside the Season?
You can just scan the whole Season for new Metadate, except the Season won’t match automatically.
If naming is per Plex spec, it will automatch.
I’m interested in the third point. Multiple solutions meaning there’s a possibility to avoid a server upgrade? Or will that be a requirement for a full fix?
Some season posters aren’t working. They are showing in the selection (the _t image on tvdb servers), but the full-sized posters aren’t loading. And that’s due to TVDB itself.
As you can see in the the Mandalorian TVDB link most season posters aren’t loading in their full-sized images.
Public update is out. Seems to be working on my DS918+.
I’ve applied the 2058 public release update but I am still not getting any posters for TV shows I’ve added over the last few days. “Refresh Metadata” tries but fails to pull posters for the main property and for seasons.
I see at least one poster state the update worked for them, so, behavior appears to be inconsistent.
I believe you have to “Refresh All Metadata” at the library level, not just an individual show. When I did that it worked for me. Depending on the size of your library, give it some time to run. By that I mean, go to Settings, and then under Status click on Alerts and wait for that to stop scrolling. Not just when the activity icon stops spinning.
Patience is key here.
PMS is going to go through everything in the library section, one item at a time.
This is like creating a section while retaining the watched status.
It’s doing a lot of extra work in the background after the spinners stop.
Refreshing the whole library felt a tad overkill, but it did work to get that one pesky episode thumbnail that was still missing even after refreshing the episode and show a few times (cache cleaning included after some tries).
Don’t dismiss a proposed solution without trying it first is the lesson here, I suppose
I make the recommendation because I have no idea what the state of any particular library is. In many cases, even users don’t know there’s damage internally.
Refreshing it all guarantees it is brought back to correct state.
Hi @ChuckPa
I dont know if problem is with this specific tv serie but i rebuild my library and i could not get posters for Hawaii Five-0. I delete the libray restart plex server and rebuild the library. I got the info (text) but no posters.

THX,
Braz.
Braz,
Look at the names.
“Game of Thrones” is in English
" Havai Cinco-O" is in Spanish.
“WestWorld” is a proper name so is language indifferent.
Try renaming the Series title (top direcctory) to Hawaii Five-O
and also rename 1 episode to English as well.
After renaming, Plex Dancing the series, and scanning again, If it doesn’t populate then grab the ZIP again.
I will compare the two.
Hi, is there a manual work around available please? I’m limited to QTS 4.2.6 on my QNAP so upgrading PMS isn’t an option for me. Appreciate any feedback. Thank you.
It can be manually changed but is very precarious.
It is outright dangerous for those not skilled.
QNAP users tend to have the ssh & command line skills necessary but not guaranteed.
I will speak with our management how they want to proceed.
Which PMS version is currently in use?
QNAP NAS model ?
