I am getting the message “This sever is currently not available” on my TV. I select user, then I am presented with my server which if I select gives me the message “This server is currently not available” with a red cross by the server name.
I have tried connecting numerous times, manually entering my IP address and also using the PINcode
My server has a static IP address assigned, confirmed with Ipconfig.
I have disabled my firewall
Checked that my TV and Server are on the same subnet.
Not sure where to look now, any help greatly appreciated.
What is running on the TV ? Is it Plex for Samsung app? Version ?
When you get this problem - you could test on the server itself by loading Media Manager and see if that can access the server through the browser on url localhost:32400/web or 127.0.0.1:32400/web
The web setting for allowing fallback is only relevant to the Plex Web App itself and that web session and not relevant to the Plex app you have running on the TV
Check that you have in Firewall Advanced Settings
Inbound Port Rule (not program rule)
Protocol: TCP
Local Port: 32400
Remote Port : Any
Network: Any
Scope: Apply to all network profiles
Action: Allow
So this is specific to the Samsung Plex app use and all other clients work ok?
Can you ping the samsung TV ip address from the server PC?
could you go through the process of signing out on the samsung plex app from the plex.tv account and then re-attempting to sign in

What do you mean select user ? what user ? Is this a shard server ?
I signed out and then signed in using the PinCode, it signs in ok but then the same problem.
When I select the plex app from TV the first screen I am presented with is the “Select User” Screen which has just one selection choice it has my email address and unlocked padlocked and the word PIN.
I don’t think it is a shared server, how would I check?

Ok so Ping timed out with 100% lost

I thought that user selection is part of Plex Home and Multi-User environments. Did you ever have PlexPASS and Plex Home users setup ? Did you add a pin to your master account (Media Manager / Settings / Users screen). If you check the user manual - it says you only get asked to select user if you have setup a Plex Home
If ping is failing then you have a problem, Do you have multiple network subnets ? If this is your own local samsung tv then it would be on the same local network as the server and therefore ping should work
Can you check the ip addresses of the server and of the samsung and also go through the process of setting up the network connection on the samsung and to confirm it is on the same router as the server. Is everything wired ?
Since last week, I’m having the same problem with my samsung TV. It keeps showing this message “The server is currently not available”.
Actually, I can connect to plex server with all my other devices, including another samsung smartTV (an older model, though). But there’s only this new TV that’s not working.
TV model : UN60H7100 ** not working **
TV model : UN32EH5300_USA ** works fine **
I’ve done all the steps that I could imagine and it just dont work.
PS : all other wifi features of TV is working perfectly … Plex it’s the only app that doesn’t work.
PS2 : I don’t have the option to wire-connect this TV … it must run on my wifi network

As it is only a samsung specific model that is not working it would be more appropriate for you to use the Plex Samsung Smart Hub forum and search that and reference the pinned topics and manuals and raise a forum topic there
With regards to wifi or wired - the important bit for connection issues is that your TV is on the same network as the server.
I am running plex on my computer and on IOS and I am getting this error now. I was just watching a movie and it buffered and timed out and now it says server unavailable. HELP!

May be the server crashed or network failed. Was Plex Media Server.exe still showing in Windows Task Manager?
