I can’t access through a web browser, I can ping 127 fine… it’s only Plex that isn’t working. Done a fresh install. Don’t know what to do.

Plex Media Server.log (148.5 KB)

Is it a local or remote machine?

If it’s remote it would be the remote IP and not the 127.0.0.1

It’s a local machine

Try HTTPS://127.0.0.1:32400 instead in case it enabled SSL vs HTTP or if there’s an icon that may launch it as well vs just the browser method.

I run mine headless 99% of the time and I know if I refresh the OS and install a new version again it requires using the GUI to get it logged in the first time but, then it’s manageable from the CLI from then on.

Go in via the Plex Web App https://app.plex.tv/desktop and disable IPV6 in
Settings - Show Advanced - Network

We’ll have to see if there’s more going on besides the IPV6.
After you’ve saved changes, cycle the power on the Windows computer,
and give PMS 6 min. to initialize before you use the Plex Web App to get us more logs.
If it works, you can skip em

Hi,

Thanks for the response but I’m afraid it may be too late for that.

I removed my server from my authorised devices so it wouldn’t be there.

I can’t see any options to disable ipv6 in the web client settings

If you removed your server from Authorized Devices, you need to reestablish normal access to that server. Then you’ll see the Network section where you can disable IPV6.

If you can’t find any way to get access to the server due to this IPV6 issue, you can shut it down and make the setting by hand. That method is covered in the https://support.plex.tv/articles/201105343-advanced-hidden-server-settings/ article. The entry is called EnableIPv6 about ⅔ of the way down the page.

Thanks for the quick response! Before I try that, it seems I’ve got some sort of connection, I can connect to http://localhost:32400/web/index.html but not http://127.0.0.1:32400/web/index.html

However, when I try to go to server settings through localhost, it says ‘Server Settings Are Unavailable.’

Is there a fix for this?

Thanks
Ant

In either
http://localhost:32400/web/index.html or better yet
https://localhost:32400/web/index.html

Go ahead and sign out in the upper right hand corner.
Then sign in again.

Personally I would shut down PMS, manually disable IPv6 in my registry, and start it again.
If I still didn’t have access, I’d follow this article below.

because you deleted your authorized device:
https://support.plex.tv/articles/204281528-why-am-i-locked-out-of-server-settings-and-how-do-i-get-in/

Right,

So latest is I think it’s a problem with Chrome, 127.0.0.1 works on FireFox and Edge.

Problem I have now is, I can rename the server as a new one, but I can’t add any libraries ‘changes cannot be saved’ when trying to add one.

Feel like I’m so close but so far still

I see you still have

Oct 08, 2019 21:43:29.705 [8888] DEBUG - HttpServer: Listening on IPv6 as well as IPv4.
