Tidal (hub) not working on Plex for Linux

Hey there guys,

Just wanted to point out that I have no luck getting my just-purchased Tidal subscription to work with PMP on Linux (Ubuntu 22.04). It’s working on the web app and my TV, so I doubt it’s a Tidal account linking issue.

If I access the Tidal library on PMP for Linux it just says “Something went wrong. An unexpected error occured”.

Using PMP version 1.47.1.3086-6c3d964f. Restarting the server, logging in and out, switching Plex users and relinking my Tidal account didn’t solve the issue.

Any help would be highly appreciated, as I really wouldn’t like to use the hosted web app just to use tidal.

The weird thing is, that PMP shows Tidal results upon search. Also, the episodes and movies show their Tidal songs, just nothing is playable.

Any solution would be great, as I really wouldn’t want to pay for a partially broken feature on my daily main driver.

Best wishes

Update: Adding that it isn’t working on my Fire TV Stick 4k either :frowning: So I think there’s some sort of linking issue. Working on the web app and my phone though

Wanted to add that when I click on a song from a search result or from the episode overview it just says “Playback error - Content not available”

Anybody? Would be a shame if I couldn’t use this properly :frowning:

PMP is no longer supported, use Plex HTPC instead (Media Server Downloads | Plex Media Server for Windows, Mac, Linux, FreeBSD and More)

Not sure about the Fire Stick, that might be a separate issue.

Oh really? Plex Media Player is no longer supported? :astonished: But why did they just release the Linux version of it? Okay will try, thank you @drzoidberg33

Not sure which “they” you are referring to here, but it’s possible you maybe confused the Plex HTPC linux release with PMP?

Some more info on this release in the blog: https://www.plex.tv/blog/way-to-be-htpc/

I meant Plex devs or whoever is working on PMP releases

Well, I’m not sure if we’re on the same page, but Plex Media Player just received a Linux version as well not so long ago  That’s why I wondered that it is discontinued.

However, I downloaded Plex HTPC and Tidal is working just fine on there, so that issue is solved :relaxed:

Edit: But mhhh, I can’t manage the server from Plex HTPC :frowning: Well, well, well. Seems like I can’t have everything working  On HTPC I can’t manage the server, on PMP for Linux I don’t have Tidal, so good old hosted web app it is

Are you maybe referring to Plex Desktop / aka “Plex for Linux” (which is basically the web interface in a stand-alone application)?

PMP doesn’t have management features, Plex Desktop is though.

Ahhh yeah! Yes, that’s exactly what I meant. Sorry for the confusion :see_no_evil:

Just another update: I’m not sure why and how, but it’s working now after several PMS reboots and Plex for Linux reboots  Not sure how it was solved, but it’s working
