Totally agree with @gbcox. This is not a normal feature request, there was a product sold under the impression that that feature would be available on Roku (it once was) and it still isn’t showing on the Roku app to this day.
Hello PLEX Forum, I have already commented on this and am currently waiting for PLEX or Amazon to get a lossless product available. In the meantime I see that Deezer has a package for ROKU that will offer 52 million tracks in lossless format at 20 bucks a month or a bit less if you pay for the year all at once. I have decided to give this a try after waiting for 6 months without a word. It will either sell me on lossless forever or cure me of the bug. I have to try it out and see how I like it. I hope PLEX eventually gets this fixed. I will still be using PLEX to access my movie collection.
So, it’s been almost a year, Plex, and you still don’t seem to care about fixing this. I PAY for a PlexPass and PAY for Tidal but still can’t use it on Roku.
You HIDE behind these forums instead of offering any real option for support, so there’s no way to actually directly contact you and find out WHY this is the case.
I WANT TO KNOW WHY.
Also, related but different, how come you still can’t figure out how to sort my photos by date taken? What a waste of my time.
Hello Plex Forum,
So Amazon has dropped its new Ultra/UltraHD music program. I of course have Amazon Music on my Roku menu and this makes my private very large music collection obsolete. They have everything I have, in better quality and perfectly tagged with meta data. I will not be looking to add Tidal to my Plex account any longer. This works for me and I am very impressed with the package.
In addition to this, Tidal has now debuted its own Roku app. This issue is pretty much solved.
Not sure if the issue is solved yet. I would like the PLEX integration with Tidal for my music library - but it really begs the question now what exactly is the hold-up. If Tidal can figure it out how to navigate the Roku Channel Certification Guidelines, why is PLEX having an issue. As mentioned above, we’re quickly coming up on a year.
An additional comment about the Tidal Roku client… it doesn’t work with the Roku screensaver and doesn’t yet support last.fm scrobbling. The only available settings that are available is to simply “logout”. It’s their first release, so I guess it’s to be expected - however I’m just shocked at the apparently lackadaisical attitude both Tidal and PLEX have shown to the Roku customer base. It’s completely ridiculous and unacceptable to have Roku lag behind in features and functionality - especially for what is rapidly coming up on a year. Roku is the largest streaming platform by an order of magnitude.
FINALLY! Thanks for taking the time to post. Using it now. Works great!
Wow! Really? Have to try it out when I get home. Hopefully they don’t just pull it again! I had given up on this. Now I may need to reactivate my Tidal subscription, if it works.
One issue I have noticed is that at times playlists on “Plex Tidal” don’t match with what is available on the actual “Tidal” apps. When this happens, playback on “Plex Tidal” stops because a particular track isn’t found. This issue isn’t related to only the Roku app, it is an issue with the Plex implementation of Tidal. Appears to be some type of synchronization issue, but yet again getting crickets from Plex support. Plex really needs to implement a bug reporting system - relying on ninjas and the occasional Plex employee to read and respond to forum entries doesn’t work. Hopefully we won’t have to wait another year for it to be fixed. Here is my post on the issue: "PLEX" Tidal playlist sync issue, causes NOT FOUND error and stops playback
Man, you guys don’t make this easy. So I’ve reactivated my Tidal account and turned it on. From the Roku when I try to access Tidal I get “TIDAL is currently unavailable”. From the webapp I get “There was an unexpected error”. The subscriptions page shows I have an activated Tidal account and you seem to have had no problem charging my Visa. Can I please get this fixed ASAP!
To get it to work on the Rokus I has to unlink and then relink them to my account. It now works on Roku, Android and Chrome. Still does not work on the webapp.
