Tidal & Plex - account unlinked and now can't relink

Tidal account was unlinked, and now it is impossible to link again. No error message, it just doesn’t link the account. Takes me to the Tidal login page, lets me confirm the account, and redirects to the generic Plex.tv homepage … but nothing happens. Try again, and it is just an endless cycle.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Came here to say the same thing - same problem except I am trying to set up a new association with my TIDAL account. I go to the auth page, log in to TIDAL and it ‘works’ except it just redirects me to the Plex home page and the link is not established.

I used to have an account linked a few years ago, but it has long been unlinked and now I am trying to link a different TIDAL account - not sure if that is causing the problem? (There seems to be some latent information hanging around on the old account - the recommendations are based on my old listening.)

I just came here to post the same issue. Although, I, like the other user am a new subscriber. However, the issue is the same: I try to link to Tidal and it takes me to the login and seems to complete the procedure. No access to Tidal persists and when I view my account details on Plex there isn’t a Tidal connection. One final thing, I can access Tidal via the Tidal app with the credentials I used via Plex to create the account.

It’s been 24 hours and am yet to figure a solution or see one that works.

I have exactly the same problem. Is this a problem with the official Plex server? Do you have a solution?

I’m trying to link the account for the first time, and yeah, it appears to link the account, goes through the motions, but it never actually does.

What gives?

Kinda nice to hear other people having the same issue as that means it is likely to be a server issue from Plex or TIDAL.

How do we summon someone who could look at it? Is this forum thread enough?

I sent a support request to Tidal on Thursday. Said to expect 3 business days for a response. So maybe early in the week.

I’m sure they will say to contact Plex. In that case, not sure how to directly submit a support request to Plex or how to let them know about this issue.

Good job,we attract more people with the same problem to discuss here, which can attract the attention of PLEX administrators.

I’ve been able to use the TIDAL auth flow with another application so it is working in at least one instance on TIDAL’s side.

Therefore I suspect this is related to how Plex handle the ‘success’ response from TIDAL - and to be clear I mean on a Plex central server rather than the Plex Media Server that we are running locally.

I’ve been linked with Tidal without issue for at least a year. My brother tried linking to his Plex account and was having this same issue. I unlinked to test linking with my account and am getting the same thing. Seems like the callback URL implementation for handing off the Tidal association is broken and handing back (or incorrectly redirecting from the callback URL) to plex.tv/sign-in and lands on plex.tv since we’re already signed in.

Hopefully this is a typical SAML integration and it’s a matter of correcting the config but it could be on either side, Tidal or Plex. Hoping this gets visibility and is a straightforward fix.

I tried linking Plex to my Tidal account and was having this same issue.

A fix has been deployed and this should now be working again.
