This has been asked in a few different places and I haven’t found an answer yet. I’m hoping someone can help me before I throw something against the wall!
I have a Mac Mini with PMP on it connected to my AV receiver which connects to my TV. The Mac Mini is on all the time and is dedicated to being both a PMS and PMP. I haven’t had any problems and it has been setup this way for a few years now. Turn the TV and AVR on, PMP is there, ready to go.
In the not too distant past, when I turn on the TV and the AVR, the macOS status bar and application title bar show up. It seems that if I move the mouse on the Mini, those go away. Every time I turn things on I have to walk across the room, wiggle the mouse after things are on, then go back to watching. This makes using Alexa and the Plex skill kind of pointless.
Here is what I have:
Mac Mini - Late 2012, 16 GB, 30TB of drives attached
macOS 10.11.6 (El Capitan)
PMS - 1.14.1.5488
PMP - 2.26.0.947-1e21fa2b
Screenshot of what I see when I turn on the TV and AVR:
That shouldn’t be there…
Settings within PMP that may or may not have an impact:
Layout - Auto
Full Screen - checked
Always on top - checked
Force Fullscreen Display - checked
I have not upgraded the macOS. I have not changed anything else on the machine. I have been keeping PMS and PMP current. In what I have read, but no one seems to have provided an answer to, is that something changed in a certain release of PMP.
This is the closest I can find with info, and there is no answer/resolution:
Full-Screen mode for Plex Media Player not working correctly on macOS High Sierra
Please help!
Thanks.
