Just trying to connect me ATV3 to my PLEX

 

  • ATV2 or ATV3?:

  • Your ATV firmware version: newest

  • The DNS server set on the ATV (found under the ATV settings > general > network > DNS):192.168.2.1

  • The device and operating system (including version number) that PlexConnect is installed on: windows 

  • The local IP address of the device that PlexConnect is installed on: dont know where to find it but plexi starts on 127.0.0.1 

  • The device and operating system (including version number) that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on:windows

  • The local IP address of the device that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on:  dont know where to find it but plexi starts on 127.0.0.1 

  • Where your media is stored (e.g. internal drive): internal

  • The PlexConnect version number (or if using Github source then a time and date of download; look at the creation date of the folder): downloaded 10 min ago

What am i doing wrong, I belive im not putting the correct number into the dns settings in the ATV3, Where can i find the dns number i should put in?

I have the same problem in a macbook pro, someone else?

127.0.0.1 is ALWAYS the OWN IP address, no matter on which device you check it. So you can't use this to - say - have your client access data on a server.

Screenshot: IP_self: 192.168.2.106 <- this is the IP of the machine PlexConnect is running on. Chances are, your PMS is running on the same...

Log: Everything looks fine, you just miss the actual requests from aTV to PlexConnect -> change the aTV DNS address to 192.168.2.106 (IP_self).
