I’ve been a plex user for a long time now and upgraded to lifetime about a year ago. recently i’ve been having a heck of a time getting trailers to show up for a some of my movies. Especially older ones in my kids section. I thought it was limited to only for ones more than a few years old, but I am trying to get it to show up for Guardians of the Galaxy and it’s just not populating no matter what i try. i did the “dance” but still nothing. here’s my current setup for agents:
I’m not sure if this is a limitation of imdb/thetvdb and no longer having freebase, or some old data…i can get logs if need be. thanks for your help - banging my head on this one!
Edit - i should also add that i just added several other new movies and trailers populated immediately along with all the extras. So it doesn’t appear to be a system wide issue, just certain titles. Right now i’m struggling trying to get “captain america: civil war” to generate extras/trailers. I had them there at one point, but i downloaded a new copy, removed the old one and now they’re gone.
Thanks - i swear i’d tried this already, but just went back to plex movie from tmdb and now it found the right info with the trailers and all the extras. i did this in a test folder - hopefully when i copy it back to the main directory i don’t lose the metadata again.
Yup - that worked - thanks again for your help. I’m still not finding some trailers for older movies though - not sure of the limitations of the system. I just added the Evil Dead Trilogy and none of them have trailers, although all are from the 80’s/90’s. Several others movies are also missing trailers though - 3 of the 4 pirates of the caribbean are also missing theirs.
so, i don’t know what to do about these older ones now…just accept it?
I get no trailers at all for pirates 1 - 3. Only 4 has trailers.
There are simply some movies which don’t get any trailers.
This applies to rather a lot of Disney movies. Don’t know why - maybe licensing issues.
Thank you so much for confirming this! Yes - most of the missing ones are disney. I’m unmatching, auto matching, manual matching, refreshing, moving anything i can think of to get some to work. But now i can relax and just accept that not everything has a trailer. The ones that i seem to be having trouble with are also marvel (disney) movies. Eventually i get the trailer to add somehow, but they just don’t appear to populate as easily as most other flicks.
thanks very everyone’s help today - i was getting a bit annoyed!!!
I don’t know if this is part of the problem for the movies that you still don’t get trailers for but for me there’s like a 50/50 chance if the trailer appears or not. I have always attributed this to some kind of server overload which causes request timeout, but I don’t know. Example:
