Trailers not found for films

Hey,

Seems that not all my movies in my library are finding trailers. I have the settings setup under the agents. i have changed from rotten tomatoes to IMDB and Plex Movie and still not picking anything up.
I see from another post that trailers maybe picked up from IVA rather than IMDB/TMDb.
Any ideas how i can get all my movies to have trailers, i don’t really want to have to download them all manually and add them to the library

Trailers are picked up from IVA.
If the naming & subsequent match isn’t right, or the agents are not set correctly, there won’t be any IVA content.

If you have Local Media Assets enabled, just keep it at the bottom of the list. Putting it at the top will preempt the other agents. You only want it to act as fill for local subtitles and extras of your own.

Is there any plan to change the source for trailers?
Plex teams are probably paying an API for a source (IVA) that does not match many movies. I am paying here for a service (Plex pass) that does not add many trailers for my movies.
Here are only a few (!) examples of 2019 movies for which NO trailer is found by this service. This needs to be fixed. Why can’t we simply have an automated YouTube search?

  • The lighthouse
  • Ready or not
  • Marriage Story

If you’d like to put in a feature request, please do.
I am on here on the support side. what you’re discussing is feature & product decision first and then engineering to implement next. I’m at the end of that food chain.

Where and how do I do this?

Once again, how do I put in a feature request?

There is already a fitting request in existence: Custom URL for movie/TV series trailers

However, the chances of it getting implemented are not good. Because Youtube doesn’t give away anything for free. Everybody should know by now that the user of Youtube is paying for his use of the service by a) watching ads b) giving away his usage data to Google.

All of the media which are currently availble through Plex, even if they are just trailers, are properly licensed. With contracts and all.
It is out of the question to “just do it anyway” without a contractual basis to agreeable conditions.
