Trailers (plex pass, not local files) won't play from any device

Server Version#: 1.21.3.4046
Player Version#: Web app from any device or computer, Nvidia Shield player 8.13.23036

I’m not sure when they stopped playing, but it has probably been at least a couple months since I could get any trailers to play. These are all trailers available because I have a plex pass; I have no trailers I have personally saved to my server.
They will not play from any player; they all show available in the “extras” section of each movie’s details, but they all time out and give me an error message.
I have completely uninstalled plex and the Plex folder from my NAS and reinstalled a clean copy, and completely recreated the database, but this didn’t help.
I haven’t changed any settings on any devices (the NAS server or any players), so I have no idea what happened.
For me, the trailers were my favorite thing about Plex, and are the reason I was willing to pay for it.
It is incredibly frustrating; I feel like I have to have an IT degree just to get this to do what it is supposed to, and with no direct support available, I’m at the mercy of the forum.

I welcome anyone who wants to make me feel stupid and tell me I just need to click this one button, or I just need to select some other drop down option I can Plex settings…that would make my day!

Please try and play a few trailers then grab the Plex Server logs (Settings → Troubleshooting → Download logs) and post them here.

FYI, I’ve noticed just now it is ALL extras that don’t play.

Thanks. What quality setting do you have set in Settings → [Plex Web] Quality → [Internet Streaming] Video Quality?

Try adjusting that to Maximum and see if it helps.

I tried the adjustment to “Maximum”; didn’t help on any device.

drzoidberg33, were you able to see anything definitive from the logs? I know there is a “verbose” logging option that I currently don’t have turned on; would that help you see more detail?

Am I going about this the right way? Are there other ways to get PLEX customer support that I’m not aware of? This is the only way I know about, so if there is no response on this forum from the PLEX team, am I just SOL?
How do I flag this to the PLEX team that it has been radio silent for a week now…?

this is a community supported forum, and that is all everyone gets. Plex pass does not provide for individual support.

trailers are working for me, and I have not had any issues.

I would suspect network or if you have a firewall device that may be blocking ips/urls you should check there.

as to verbose logs, no do not enable that unless specifically requested by a dev team member, it adds too much noise to the logs which make it more difficult to isolate. debug logs only.

I do see the below errors in your logs, not sure what is causing that though it is likely part of the problem.

Did you get this fixed? I just started having this issue too. Plex Pass, havnt had issues. In fact we just watched a trailer maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago. Now I get errors, with no known changes to setup. Ive update to latest and still same issue.

Not fixed yet; been trying to look through my server and NAS firewall settings but there’s only so much I know how to do.
