Trailers work for 1 Category but not the other

Server Version#: Version 3.81.1
Player Version#:web app

So I downloaded and named correctly Trailers for all my movies. I set in settings to play the Trailers. It works fine for the Action Category, the trailer plays first and all my movies have a Trailer on them. However, my Adventure category trailers aren’t showing up. They’re named just like the Action ones. I’ve updated the Metadata. I even deleted the Adventure category, cleaned the bundles then emptied the trash then re-added the Adventure category and it still didn’t work. What gives?

Are trailers activated in the properties of the ‘Adventures’ library (or ‘category’ as you call it)?

Please show an example the file names of both the video files of the main movie and the associated trailer file.
Please do also supply the content of the Plex media info XML of this movie:
https://support.plex.tv/articles/201998867-investigate-media-information-and-formats/

they’re named the exact way my Action Library is named and all those trailers work fine. Also the settings for Adventure are exactly the same as well. Here is an example:

Please name it just Trailer-trailer.mp4

Do also verify that under
Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - Plex Movie
the line ‘Local Media Assets’ has its checkbox filled.

Afterwards, ‘Refresh Metadata’ for this movie.

Yes like I said Action is currently playing Trailers just fine so Local Media Assets is checked off.
I changed the name and refreshed the metadata. It’s still not showing up.

Do you still have some movies stored directly under M:\Adventure, i.e. movies without an own subfolder? Try removing those (or give them all their individual subfolder).

idk what you mean. The only movies with subfolders are the Duologies and Trilogoies etc. Which my Action Library also has with no problem. Are you suggesting I remove every movie but Bloodstone from the Adventure folder and try that? Tried it, didn’t work.

No, I mean if you have video files directly under the folder M:\Adventure
e.g. M:\Adventure\Movie Title (year) - 1080p.mp4

How is your movie library set up?
Does it “watch” just M: or did you point it to M:\Adventure
(if you don’t know anymore, Edit your library, go to the ‘Add Folders’ tab)

the library only has M:\Adventure added. And inside that folder are movie folders inside which are movie files just like what’s shown in the screenshot I provided.

Sorry for asking again:
Did you actually verify whether it is checked?
Because your Action library could use a different agent setting (TheMovieDatabase), so that this setting would then not apply to it.

Both Action and Adventure are using the Plex Movie agent and in my agents section I have Local Media assets selected for both Plex Movie and The Movie Database secondary to Plex Movie and The Movie Database respectively.

This may sound weird, but can you try this:
go to
Settings - Server - Agents - Movies - Plex Movie
grab the line ‘Local Media Assets’ and drag it downwards one or two lines
Then leave this page and go back to the home page of the web app.
The come back and drag the line ‘Local Media Assets’ back to its original place
Make sure you don’t accidentally remove the check from it.

Then, as an experiment, move all the folders which contain more than one movie to someplace else.
Delete your Adventure library and recreate it.

What if I just reinstall Plex? Cuz I was playing around with the Local Media Assets. If I drag them down, they automatically become unchecked. And I also noticed and this was weird…if I uncheck Local Media Assets from the Personal Media category…it also unchecks it from the Plex Movie category. So is my Local Media Assets in Plex Movie like…phantom unchecked? Like even when it’s checked it really isn’t? I’m thinking about just uninstalling the whole program and reinstalling what u think?

Judging by your description, something is seriously out of whack.

Short of uninstalling everything, you could first try this procedure. See if it gets things back into order:

In my Plug-ins folder there is only 1 and it’s called Services.bundle

I don’t know what plugin it is… should I delete it?

‘Plug-in Support’, not ‘Plugins’

Well it said delete any plugins your not using. I just deleted it.

It will get recreated upon next server start. That’s alright.

didn’t seem to have worked…reset my settings…and refreshed Adventure metedata…no extras/trailers
