Tried this one or other guide ?
thx for your answer, but the 1.31.1.6733 for SHIELD seems doesn’t existe
Oh I see, may be trying an earlier one ? With all the usual caveats…backup and all
I have a Plex Media Server development build to offer to Mac OS users that have been getting server crashes when the transcoder crashes out - this will not stop the transcoder crash but address the server crash issue
I will make this build available to Mac users who have passed me evidence of the server crashes - anyone else affected and willing to try, do let me know
I am on version 1.32.0.6950 (Linux). It’s working without a subtitle error at the end for my clients.
On Nvidia SHIELD ?
I don’t have Nvidia Shield. So I don’t know, but the problem is the server version, not the clients. I downgraded from the latest to this version, and my friends say it is OK now, they are using Samsung Smart TV, Google Chrome, etc.
Same issue with transcoder crashing (segmentation fault). Running server version 1.32.5.7349 on Debian Linux, and streaming to a Samsung TV (5.64.1). Direct play, not transcoding needed. Crashes when (forced) subtitles are enabled.
Same problem here with some devices espacially with LG TV webOS and Consoles like Xbox Series X/S and PS5/4

I am currently using Version 1.32.6.7371 and facing this issue, hoping for a prompt resolution. Thanks!
I am having the same issue with various pms versions on my LG C27 TV. I am curious if this will be resolved shortly.
Also seeing this issue. Running PMS version 1.32.5.7349 and latest Plex app on LG webOS.
I am also having the same issue, I am eagerly awaiting a solution because it is very annoying.
Also using Plex on WebOs LG. Version 1.32.5.7349
Hello,
I was having the same issue on videos with subtitle at the end of the episode BUT also in the middle of an episode without subtitle (same error message)
Reverting to 1.31.1.6733 as proposed by [Art_Vandelay] solved the issue ![]()
Thanks for the tip !
I’ll restore the autoupdate in a few months when Plex team will have solved the issue
Could you see if a small extract from the media file exhibits this fail by trying it out in a test library and getting server logs and the zip of the smaller media test file
See this article on creating sample file Generating Sample Files from Media | Plex Support
I have a development build available that I will make available to a number of users willing to try it and confirm if it fixes the problem of the transcoder crashing when subtitles are used.
Let me know the platform/binary needed if you are happy to try it
I’m willing to help test. Server on Windows 10 x64.
I can help for NVIDIA Shield ![]()
I too am willing to help - docker.
