Transcoding not working for remote

Server Version#: 1.25.2.5319
Player Version#:8.27.2.29938

Any file that needs to transcode either refuses to play or plays pixelated on my remote clients. I have the upload speed set right at 7.27 Mbps. In the past if the file had a bitrate higher than my upload speed it would transcode and play flawlessly. The only thing way I can stream remotely now is to add another copy of the media file that’s under 4 Mpbs and set the remote streaming quality on the client to 4 Mbps.

Also if I have the server make optimized versions of my files, the mp4s that are created are unplayable. Any idea what is going on?

I guess I’m the only one having this issue with the Plex server on the Shield. I can’t watch anything remotely unless it direct plays and when I have the server make optimized versions, the files are unplayable.

I have a similar problem. If I play a file locally that has an .ASS subtitle, the HW encoder does not work. An installation of the older PMS version 1.24.5.5173 solved my problem.

After trying every possible remote setting on the server and the client, I finally solved my problem. If I played a movie and went to quality under playback settings and clicked any convert option besides convert automatically it would transcode no problem. Anytime it defaulted to convert automatically I would get pixelation or not starting at all.

In the remote clients I had to go to video quality under settings and turn off automatically adjust quality. Now it works flawlessly even if I have no limit on the remote stream bitrate on the server and maximum on the remote streaming quality on the client.
