good day yall!
(continued love to this product and comunity)
trying to be safer online i bought a proxy (and installed in on my router), could this be slowing the streaming?,
im using the media player in the same house/ on the puter that is the plex server so i didnt think this new service would affect me localy, i thought it might affect me when out of house but i didnt think it would when in same house.
or do i not understand this and the poor streaming is due to something else random…
like me needing to restart puter or somthing,
else.
in future i would like to use a vpn service instead of a proxy, would this be a better or worse product for use as it applies to/with plex.
Just turn it off as a test and try using Plex again. Check to see if there is a difference when the proxy is running vs when it’s not running.
Depending on the configuration of your Proxy and the devices you are using they could be finding and using the proxy automatically. Some operating systems will do this automatically for you (think enterprises).
yes turning the vpn did solve the slowness issues,
tho i am confused as to why it would go thru the vpn, when accessing my server from home, in my home… why would it go thru the vpn, making it less responsive… anyway
i cant seem to figure out the settings on the vpn to let the plex thru unrestricted.
i useing a win 7 server, up to date
the video player off puter to big screen
(the lg player for a second big screen)
and a vpn that goes right on the router, from torguard
even tried to run the plex thru ps4, still no change in the responsivnese…
(sorry for the slowness of my chat, i spend a lot of time in the hospital and this takes a back burner, tho i want to make it runn better for family when im not home to “fix” it.)
thanx for your patience (all)
