Hi there… I am trying to diagnose an issue with my Plex setup. I have used Plex for ages. Currently, I have the following setup – I have a QNAP TS-235Be which has a Celeron J3455 at 1.50 MHz and 8 gb of RAM. It used to be directly connected to my router, and when it was connected directly, I had no issues with it. A few months ago, I switched my network to an Eero 6 router system. Because the Eero only had one ethernet connection, I had to add a network switch to my system to accomodate the other wired connection (a PS5). I am using a Linksys gigabit Ethernet switch (SE3005), which as best I can tell shouldn’t be a problem.
I watch Plex mostly on a TCL Roku TV or a PS5, both of which have apps for Plex. Virtually all of the videos I watch are mkv filed formats – usually either 1080p or 4k video files. I never had any issues playing them before.
Most of the time the videos play fine. They seem to buffer initially a little bit slower, and rarely get stuck on 33%. The bigger issue is that since the change of my network (I believe) Plex won’t play any trailers. They get stuck and then I get a playback error. I can’t for the life of me figure out what the issue is.
Any advice?
Thanks!
