Trying to connect to Plex from Down Under

Am in Australia and the AirBnB we are staying in has a Telstra TV cable box which is actually just a Roku. Can add and log in to the Plex app but it won’t connect to my Plex server.
If I log in on my laptop on same wireless network I can access Plex server no problem.
Any ideas?
