I just purchased a plex pass for LiveTV using an AppleTV.
No matter how I set the subtitle settings in the AppleTV app or my server subtitles are displayed for every TV show.
Each time I change to a different show I must manually turn off subtitles.
This behavior is not present on the Plex Media Player app or on iOS therefore I believe it is an AppleTV specific bug.
Is this issue being worked on by the Plex team?
on the ATV go to Settings->Language->Subtitles = manual

There is no such option in the appletv.
Adjusting the “burn subtitle” setting in the plex client application does not make a difference.
Subtitles in the tvOS accessibility settings menu are set to “off”
Setting subtitles to “manual” in the plex server settings does not make a difference.
I hope this issue can be fixed soon, it really ruins the livetv experience.

I found the setting, thank you for the help
For future reference if anyone else has this issue the exact path is:
AppleTV settings -> Video and Audio -> Subtitle Language -> Off

Its the global Apple TV setting and not the Plex subtitle settings that was causing it, thanks for finding my answer
