Why is it only tv show that the plex seem to know show up??
I make a folder can call it Uncle from Another World
and place the file (Uncle from Another World Episode 8) it doen’t see it
If I rename the folder and file to say Dr Who and the file to dr who S1E05 it see it??
How can I add tv show that the plex dont’ know of??

Season 01 <-Season folder
Uncle From Another World (2022) S01E08.mkv <-video file
Episode 8 ← Won’t be recognized by the scanner in most cases

What is the {405214} for is that what plex use to pick the right icon??
If so how do I find the number for the other mostly amine files I have??
Like Dr. Stone, Reincarnated as a Sword, The Fruit of Evolution, ect
Is they a data base I can look this info up in??
Those numbers in the curly brackets for tv shows come from the TVDB or TMDB
For movies you can find those numbers at the TMDB or IMDB
Just search on the sites
You can also use a renaming program like this. It will automatically input those numbers as you rename the show. It’s much easier than inputting everything manutally
This is format I use
TV show format
Show Name: ${showTitle} (${showYear}) {tvdb-${showTvdb}}
Season: Season ${seasonNr2}
Episode Name: ${showTitle} (${showYear}) s${seasonNr2}e${episodeNr2} ${episode.title}
Movie format
Folder format: ${title} (${year})
File format ${title} (${year}) {imdb-${imdb}}
So what happen if the shwo isn’t in tvdb or tmdm??
Or if it’s some home make thing, what then??

That type of library doesn’t get matched to any online databases so no mix-ups will happen
Good for home videos, Youtube, Music Videos, or rare shows that don’t have an entry at the TVDB or TMDB
