Recently I added the TV series “Night Court” (1984) to my server and the DVD extra titled “Night Court - Comedy’s Swing Shift” does not show up in the Player in my web browser or the iPad app.
As shown here I have put the .mkv file in a folder named “Featurettes” under the main “Night Court (1984)” folder.
You are adding the wrong folder to the TV show library.
You do not add TV show folders to the library.
Given the current file structure, it should be Pi_Storage.
Plex does not support mixing movies and shows in the same library.
If Pi_Storage also holds movies or other videos, you will need to separate them by type.
Consider organizing your files in this manner:
/mnt/Pi_Storage <-- not added to any library
../movies <-- added to Movie library
../tv shows <-- added to TV Show library
..../Night Court (1984)
..../Putin and the West (2023)
../other videos
I know that and there’s a few reasons why I do it like this:
Some shows don’t fit on the “Pi_Storage” drive and must therefore be included from other drives.
Everything under “Various_TV_Series” and “SVT_Play” are shows and programs that I do not have on Blu-Ray or DVD or are just not on optical media.
They’re backed up to a cloud storage provider I use and the plan that I have with said provider gives me only so much storage space which necessitates the exclusion of certain folders on “Pi_Storage”.
And how does that block you from keeping them in separate top-level folders?
You can assign multiple folders to each library… but each folder you add should have its content (a) specific to the library type and (b) following the official naming schema… Especially for tv-show based content.
I did not and won’t be able to try until my possible fix is complete. Right now Debian is moving a a bunch of data between the HDDs I have connected to my server. Will take a little while.
