Hi all,
I have been grinding my teeth over this issue for hours on end now and I just cant find a solution for it. Basically the issue is that Plex refuses to download TV show artwork for my media. All other meta data downloads including cast, episode names, descriptions, PG ratings etc just literally no artwork. I have gone through these steps so far;
- Ensured that The TVDB is selected and above local media content in PMS
- Forced a refresh all metadata
- Ensured everything is named appropriately (Although it wouldn’t download any metadata if the naming was incorrect would it?)
- Cleared the cache for both the movie db and the TVDB
- Cleared the local TV Shows metadata cache
- Added my local network to Plex’s allowed networks without sign in area
It might also be worth nothing that any Movies I add grab all the data and artwork straight away with no issues, it seems only to be TV Shows where my issue lies.
I am running PMS Version 1.7.5.4035 (Latest on the public channel) On Windows Server 2016 (Virtual machine) with the drive holding all the media locally attached to the Host server and the virtual machine.
I would appreciate any suggestions

Thanks for that, I have tried installing the certificates as suggested however it doesn’t seem to have changed anything. I installed the cert and then forced a re download of the metadata and no artwork appeared so unless i need to clear all the cache again then I would say that’s not it.

This worked for me. Thank you for the solution. I also believe the whole certificate palaver with the TVDB web certificate on Windows Server has played a part in fixing the solution, it probably just needed this refresh to get it working.
Otto deserves all the credit.
I get to go to prison for my part in the Drive By Plex Dance Shooting…
