TV shows converted from iTunes not showing up

I use my iTunes to organize all of my media and recently starting converting my workout videos into TV shows so they can be nice and organized like T25 and so on. I can switch them back to movies but then I have a ton of workout videos showing in my movie library which can be a pain when scrolling. So I convert them to TV shows in iTunes and they work great in iTunes but they will not show up in the Plex under tv shows. So if anyone knows how to make them show up as a TV show or to have them in a separate folder in Plex under movies it wold be much appreciated.

if they show up as movies but not as shows then you did not name them properly like shows/episodes should be. if shows are named properly then a movie library would ignore them and vice versa https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/categories/200028098-Media-Preparation

Hi @joneser13 @BigWheel is of course spot on with his advice but I have an option I adopted and thought it worthy to share with you. It doesn’t satisfy your wish to use iTunes to organise, and again will involve file name changes, but I thought I’d throw it out there for you

I have a separate library called ‘Fitness’
I pull this folder into Plex using Movies
T25 episode 1 I title as a movie as per Focus T25: Alpha - Lower Focus (2013) — The Movie Database (TMDB)
The rest I title as a featurette.
Screenshots show you how it looks.

@BigWheel Do you know if there is anyway to have iTunes sort the tv shows automatically so Plex will read them? For example T25 is 16 separate movies when I originally upload them to iTunes and Plex will read them as 16 separate movies. I’m trying to keep my movie collecting cleaner so I used iTunes to convert the 16 T25 movies into a tv show. It works fine on iTunes but Plex won’t read them as a tv show. It will see there is a folder but not the episodes. Any advice you can provide would be much appreciate. I’d prefer not to have to drag the tv shows out and create a new library but I will if need be.

I haven’t used iTunes in years myself and do not know how they organize the stuff. Can you tell me how it names the files? Basically for Plex it needs a folder with the show name and inside that numbering in files names for each episode. Sometimes you can get away with some differences to the way we recommend but again I have no idea how iTunes does things

@BigWheel So I was able to get the TV shows n the correct format and it was working great until the library updated and the TVDB thought the show was something else and updated all the files to a show. Is there a way to turn that feature off on a particular show or movie? These are workout series I’m turning into tv shows for organizational purposes so when the TVDB updates it won’t find these videos and will keep switching them to the TV show it thinks it is.

1 go to the show page
2 in the ellipsis menu on top right choose UnMatch
3 then from same menu Choose Fix Match ( or Match )
4 in the popup click Search options
5 change the agent from TVDB to Personal Media Shows
6 for search term use whatever the fitness video are called
7 search and select whatever comes up which which should be whatever you typed in search terms or it found in embedded data
