So I have Plex Server running on a Docker Container on my UGOS NAS. Finally got it running and I can connect via PC/AppleTV and Phone. Great. I backed up my Plex Movie/TV Show folders when I moved from Synology to uGreen. Linking these folders to Movies/TV Shows has the following effect:
The Movies showed up immediately. There were some mismatches that were fixed.
TV Shows - nothing. I performed the Plex shuffle - move TV Shows out - Scan - delete trash - yada yada. one back - rescan - nothing.
So I thought - let my copy the same TV Shows from TV Shows folder over to Movies and see what happens - all of the TV Shows show up fine under Movies.
So what is with my TV Shows? It’s not naming convention - nor media format. It’s just the location. Is this having something to do with naming convention of the folder? I initially had the folder on NAS named with a space - then I went to underscore then to no space. None of these changes made TV Shows appear. Please help me. If this is not the forum to ask for help where else do you recommend?
It has to be naming convention. Because files which are named like a tv show will never appear in a “movies”-type library (and vice versa). Which means that your files are currently not named like a tv show.
So these same files/names worked on Synology Plex - did Plex change something recently. As for naming - come on really. I get for organization and maybe finding the right thumbnail - but to prevent viewing and watching of any content seems to be the smart way to go instead of fiddling with naming.
So if I can’t find this particular DVD in TMBD what do I do?
