Folder name:M – Eine Stadt sucht einen Mörder (2019)
The scrappers did not match this automatically. I suppose this is due to my library being English and not German. I had to do a manual search. It matched afterwards.
You just edited your post. I don’t remember what it said many hours ago so I have nothing to compare with. You might what to reply in this thread instead of doing edits.
You still having problems?
The edit did not change the content. I just added the last sentence.
With the folder name “Formula 1. Drive to Survive (2019)” Plex could automatically match the folder. How did you find out about the correct folder name? In both the english and german version of THETVDB it is written with a “-” instead of a “.”.
I could also solve “M - Eine Stadt sucht einen Mörder”. The issue was the “ö”. When replacing the “ö” by “oe” in both the folder and the filenames it worked out. Same here. How do you know what the correct folder name is?
I always use the title name listed on thetvdb whenever possible. There are some that can’t be helped, particularly with anime and the famous show M*A*S*H. Just omit the “invalid” characters or replace with a “space” in cases like that.
Fate/Zero (2011)
M*A*S*H (1972)
Becomes
Fate Zero (2011)
M A S H (1972)
Many may argue the exact way and you will need to find the best method from all this.
What I can tell you is I name the folder as close to what’s on thetvdb to achieve an automatic match. And I’ll do The Plex Dance ™ to a series 10 time if needed to get plex to recognize the series automatically. I used to manual match stuff but after a few meltdowns and rebuilding plex and going through all the unmatch/incorrect matched stuff. No way, I’m done with that. I do not like to edit plex and would rather have everything just work without manual intervention.
