Given the odd behavior, yes, the Plex Dance is likely needed. And there’s no need to disable Local Media Assets entirely, as long as the other sources have priority. LMA are needed for certain things, like external subtitles.

So do I understand the steps in the plex dance right? You need to move the TV Shows to a different location so it can’t find them? Also as a side question I did an Analyze I did it on all my assets. Some show this after a while:
