If you remove the “Continue Watching” hub, there doesn’t appear to be any way to get it back.
a. If there is indeed a way to get it back, this is a UI issue since I can’t find it for the life of me. -
Marking something is unwatched or played, does not remove it from continue watching like it does in every previous iteration. In fact, the nearest option is “remove from hub” which…ummm… caused number one. Sadface
If the Continue Watching you removed was a TV Show then go into the TV Shows Hub, scroll down to Continue Watching, press * and Add Hub to Home.
You can also scroll to the bottom of TV Shows, select Manage Hubs scroll to Continue Watching, tap right, select ⋮ and select Add to Home.
Replace TV Shows with whatever library Continue Watcyhing was from.
That is a workaround, and I thank you for it.
The problem still persists though, as there should be a unified version, versus a “continue watching” hub from each of my 12 libraries.
I didn’t think of it as a workaround. It’s how you add any library Hub to Home.
I don’t want it unified unless I can specify which libraries are included.
Sure. I completely understand that.
My only point is that an out of the box hub, once removed, it not able to be replaced. It can only be supplemented in the way you stated.
Your method does allow for customization, what @elan stated was a desired approach.
I’m simply pointing out a missed component, so they can rectify. That way people have options, to fit their desired approaches.
This is on the list to fix. We are also aware that going into the library to add Continue Watching
as well as some others adds the library specific hub, without being able to add the global one. This thread response may explain that a little further - https://forums.plex.tv/t/uno-bug-or-expected-behaviour/381150/2
It’s a bug if it’s not removed. It should refresh when needed, so it’s possible there is a scenario where the cache is not updating. If you enter the item from . I have an idea where the refresh may be failing. We’ll investigate!Continue Watching
and then press back, it should refresh
UPDATE: I was able to replicate the refresh issue. Next up is finding the underlying issue
Sounds good.
So far, the underlying base seems pretty darn good.
Some UI tweaking probably needed but refinement comes after core
Thanks for working on this guys. Folks sometimes dont show the love but it ain’t always easy!
Thanks for the kind words. As an update, @ljunkie has done some great work to address both issues which will be in the next update.
So the refresh bug is solved 100%
One thing about the “continue watching” bug is that I now see it in the “edit order” list. I move it to the top. I still have it nowhere on the home page.
It should be there, the hub order function believes it to be there, but nope.
Possible solutions:
- Determine where it is breaking in code that edit order isn’t re-adding to home screen.
- Create “reset home / hub layout” function similar to how you had it pre-unified code base
If it would be useful, I can enable remote logging and reproduce the “edit layout” manipulations, which may or may not give you a starting point.
