Those are country-specific titles, not the common titles for English, that they would be known for, around the world. I am pointing out that the system took the wrong common titles for them.
It’s worth noting that The Man with the Iron Heart doesn’t work as a search term (On the web or locally.). That tells me that something is a bit off, since that is the International, English-language name of it. HHhH (Another title.), for example, does work, on the web.
Little Woods doesn’t have this issue, though the correct title, as stated above, isn’t being used.
It’s set to English. As I pointed out, the problem is visible on the web version itself. It appears they haven’t changed, when other titles were added, unlike most titles would. The correct name of the Killing Heydrich one, doesn’t even show up on the website version and this is the name used almost everywhere.
I know the site has issues sometimes with information changing. I pointed this out myself, at one point, where items for example, that had multiple IDs would use an old one and not the new one.
I figured maybe something similar is going on here. They aren’t updating to proper International titles. It appears that normally, all titles would at least be searchable (For example Rory O’Shea Was Here also works if you search Inside I’m Dancing.
Not having the correct title even show up seems like a problem.
Something I should add… This really isn’t limited to two movies. It seems to be all over the place when there are more than one title, both with which title ends up being used or if they show up if you search for them. Since you use the same system throughout Plex, it probably isn’t good when common names for movies don’t show up.
I don’t really maintain a large collection of anything (Too tiring, so I dropped it for a while, then went back with a small one.), anymore, but I have seen it many times over the years, when I used to do collections in the tens of thousands.
Credo (Should also come up as The Devil’s Curse in searches. That is the more common name.) is another one that comes to mind.
I think there is a bug in the system that doesn’t handle later name changes as well as it should. There also appears to be one in regards to pulling down alternate titles when this happens, as it usually leaves out the more common name, that the movie was changed to.
Movies like Inside I’m Dancing (Original name was a bit of a potential spoiler.), The Devil’s Curse (Original name was bad.), The Man with the Iron Heart (Used a country-specific name.), and Little Woods (Used a country-specific name.) were all renamed or only released by their less common names in other countries, yet your online system can’t fully pick up on this. I know there are many more, I just don’t see them all the time, with a small collection.
This is what I am trying to report. Since you use it for your watchlist and streaming features, it would probably be a good idea to make sure that all names are covered and that items are properly named. I mean this in the trying to think logically, sort of way. The system rather than the individual titles, sort of thinking.
