Server Version#:1.32.5
Player Version#: 1.49 (Plex HTPC for Mac)
I have several two-part movies that do not show up in Plex HTPC but they do appear when I launch Plex in my web browser. An example of the file names is:
Goodfellas - pt1.m4v
Goodfellas - pt2.m4v
I have put the files in the same folder as my movies, and I have tried making a folder (“Goodfellas” in this case) within my movie folder and putting the two .m4v files in this folder, but neither works. Is there a solution to this problem?
Are you accessing the same library /server /account?
Library contents won’t be different depending on which client you use. There might be some clients that won’t be able to play stacked files… but that’s a different matter from displaying them in your library (and should be working from Plex HTPC for all I know).
Thanks for the reply, tom. Yes, they are exactly the same library, server and account. It’s been this way for some time but I only noticed it last night when I was trying to watch Goodfellas and it didn’t show up in Plex HTPC.
OK, this is strange. On a whim, I downloaded Plex HTPC to my M1 MacBook Air and the movies show up on it and play (but there’s no sound for some reason - AAC audio track is enabled).
So, another weird thing. On my iPad and LG TV’s Plex apps, the movies show up but when I select them they both report the file is unavailable. This seems to be an inconsistency with the naming convention of Plex’s help pages that specifically state how to name multi-part movies.
