First off, love PMS.
However I am having a couple of issues with the Xbox 360 app.
-
Subtitles. Even though I have told Plex that I don’t want subtitles when the media is in English, on the 360 it forces them to display. Even stranger is that when I go to turn them off they are actually set to “none” already, and I have to enable them to then be able to disable them. Plex auto-downloads SRT files for most my media as I have a lot of foreign TV, however how can I stop it displaying (or downloading) for English audio?

Buffering and Managed Users. I have managed users enabled (as no more than a way to be able to use PlexPy to discover who is watching what so I can tailor the incoming media to suit). However recently I noticed an issue - when I use a Managed User on the 360 app the video’s buffer constantly on anything about 1mbit quality. This is strange as the 360 is on a 54mbps Wireless link and can cope with Maximum quality when I am using my “Admin” account. I did some investigation and aside from Plex thinking that the 360 is coming from external (I disabled external access to test, no different) I can’t see anything strange in the logs, my firewall, or on my interfaces for my Ubuntu box.
I can literally swap from any managed user to my Admin user and play the exact same film on the exact same quality (typically 2mbps 720p) and it will go from buffering every 10 seconds to perfect. Using nethogs on my Ubuntu box I can see that on the managed user it never pushes more than 100kbps yet for my Admin it can push whatever it requires.
This used to work fine AFAIK however seemed to have started recently. I have reverted any recent changes (such as adding in my local subnet as the “no need to authorise” list, along with enabling remote access) back and it’s still the same.
Also important to note is that if any of my Managed Users watch it on literally any other device (Xbox One, PS4, NowTV/Roku, Chrome Player, Plex Theatre) it works flawlessly.
Thoughts?
