Two servers and only one reachable with Samsung TV UE55J5550SU

Hey Guys,

I tried to access my Plex Media Server (Windows) remote at my brothers TV but it doesn’t work.
I have also another Plex Media Server running on the same network like my windows server on my raspberry pi.

The second one is reachable the first one is not.

I’ve checked the unsure connection preferred issue but this made no difference.
Using the web Player on my brothers network, the connection to both servers is possible.

Do you know what’s the reason for this behaviour? Which other information is needed?

OK but why does it work on the same TV and the same Plex app with another Plex Media Server??
It seems the “the TV is to old” argument does not fit.

Just a guess here, but see the following options:

  • you added your own server ip in the client, and for your remote server, needs to resolve via plex.tv?
  • You allowed your local PMS some IP addresses to access without auth?
  • The remote server hasn’t been configured to allow unsecure/non auth access
  • You have not entered the remote servers public IP and port

And again, you are security wise on a bad road here, with a TV from 2015
I strongly suggest you look in the post I linked towards, for alternatives
