I have two Synology NAS units, PLEX-NAS & PLEX-NAS2. I can uninstall the Plex media server software, then reinstall with a claim token and successfully claim the server on my account. When trying to add the second, it adds successfully but drops the server previously claimed. I had been running this setup fine for about 5 years. I’m not sure what causes this, but I’m looking for a remedy.
The two things I can think of.
Did you clone/copy one server to the other? If so the preference XML would be the same an they would show as the same server machineID which needs to be unique.
The other thing it could be is if your port forwardiing uses the same external port which only one can use at the time/
I’ll check the preferences XML later today. The clone/copy sounds like something I would do. However because this was all working at some time I think the port forwarding is more the issue. I’ll post updates as I check - Thanks!
