Ubiquiti upgrade killed my remote access

First off, I love my plex. I was running it on a windows home server, then upgraded to a unraid server, now I’m using synology. I’ve love it and have very few issues…

My network kept having issues so I upgraded everything to ubiquiti. I’m running a dream machine with multiple aps and everything runs fine, but plex remote access stopped working.

I’ve tried port forwarding and enabled upnp (I think). Nothing is working. Does anyone have any idea of what the best solution would be. I may have to go back with a normal router for it to work…

What does your port forwarding rule look like in your Unifi controller? It should look something like this:

  • “From” should be set to “Any.”
  • “Port” should match what you have manually configured in Plex under "Settings → Remote Access → Manually specify public port.
  • “Forward IP” should be set to the private IP address of your Plex Media Server.
  • “Forward Port” should be set to 32400.
  • “Protocol” should be set to TCP.

If you haven’t configured a manual public port in your remote access settings, I’d recommend you do so. Otherwise it will rely on UPnP/NAT-PMP for automatic port mapping.
