"Uh oh, I've alerted the plex team" when trying to do anything useful with Plex/Alexa

Alexa’s Plex integration barely works, lately it says “uh oh, something went wrong etc etc” when asking it to do basically anything. play an album, music by an artist. artist radio… etc

(for example, artist radio, random stuff etc play some music… )

How about just get rid of this integration if you aren’t going to support it at all? (Before you get snippy, users paid a lot for Plex, it isn’t some free charity work - I paid for it. a lot)

edit: Before a staff/bootlicker responds asking if I’ve tried XYZ. Yes, I have.

my server works perfectly, remote access works perfectly, myself and my many users have perfect performance from it, my alexa devices work perfectly with every other service, I’ve disabled and re-enabled the Alexa Plex Skill. This is your issue. fix it.

Having the same issue now, I’ve rebooted the router, verified remote access is working, the android app has no issues connection, disabled and re-enabled the skill, Made sure I am on the latest update, everything. Plex skill either just gives the above error, or just spins and then goes dark with acknowledgement or error

Cool. watch some Plex staff member respond to both of us saying

1: The issue doesn’t exist
2: have you tried (obvious nonsense that we obviously have tried since there’s nothing to try except disabling and re-enabling the Alexa Plex skill)

What I love about this is: Every time Alexa has this error, it says “We’ve alerted the Plex team”

Cool. so it’s submitting bug reports? good. then why is the issue still present and why am I making this post to “let them know about it” if Alexa has dozens and dozens of times?

Wouldn’t you think the thousands of bug reports being sent by alexa (when it says “I’ve alerted the plex team” ) would be enough “help”

how much “help” do they need?

Mark me down as “same same”. And yes, removed/reinstalled skill and device in Plex settings.

I am not convinced anyone is even maintaining this skill. There’s been very few responses to countless issues with Plex / Alexa. It’s luck of the draw if it works on a daily basis. And when it does it spits out errors if you try to make it do something different.

Same. Works fine from Desktop (Win/Mac apps) and PlexAmp (Win/Mac).
Echo Dot doesn’t respond, or gives ‘Uh oh…’
Weirdly, when I disconnected and reconnected the Alexa Skill, It could only see servers my account had joined - not my main server running PMS.

Happened for the last few days. Nothing else on my end has changed.

Weird for a product we paid for to be so un-maintained.

And yet more and more ads all the time. strange.

Well then, that was weird. It works for me now. I was trying to have Alexa launch a playlist on my server, and it couldn’t find my server, so errored out.

It did find my friends server, but wouldn’t let me change back to my own server and was stuck.

I went and removed myself from my friends server, and now the skill/playlist link works again.

I wonder what will happen if I reconnect to my friends server… maybe yes, maybe no.
