UK Channel Issues - 19 DAVE / 25 YESTDAY and other EPG issues

cool - will do.

Can you tell me the time/date of any particular shows on those channels you’d like me to check for (to ensure correct region etc)?

as to your opinion… based on my experience, it sounds right. I can’t believe that the UK based Plex employees/reps aren’t themselves effected by this and therefore screaming internally on our behalf above this.

Just an FYI, we’re not!

I took me about two weeks to get my lineup corrected, but I just noticed another mistake with it last week. I submitted a report using the form, but so far, it’s still incorrect.

Also, there are plenty of issues that don’t involve the channel lineup. I missed a couple of recordings last week because episodes either weren’t marked as new or had incorrect season and episode information or lacked that information completely and just listed an airing date. I submitted that as well, but it didn’t get fixed in time for the recordings.

I’m sure it will all get fixed eventually, but when eventually will be, I have no idea.

@Noah0504 Hi :smile:

…can I assume you are a US resident (as opposed to being a Plex employee)?

Yes. I guess my comment could have been a little confusing. I meant that not all of us US users are sailing smoothly right now.

yup , we’re also seeing that. You might want to look out for these as well as they can catch you out:.

  1. It’s all an hour out (summer time error?)
  2. The genres are missing (minor, I guess).

So many hurdles to jump even after the channels become available

Thanks for clarifying

Ooooh, I hope its not a summer time issue

Been fighting with Microsoft for over 5 years telling them the UK is not on GMT during the summer

To be honest, I’m not sure if it is or not, but 19 Dave and 79 Dave ja vu are both an hour out for me. It also has some incorrect episodes, so it might just be a regional thing (or both).

@JCHH 79 is really Dave +1 but they named it Dave Ja Vu, so I’ve should it should be 1 hour behind of 19 Dave if I’ve understood your question?

Dave… Not 19 or 79

P.s. there’s no Region devide for either channel it’s nationwide

Hi,

Yes, Dave ja vu is quite a clever run on the French “Déjà vu”)

Perhaps this helps me explain better:

Dave is:

  • 1 hour away from its correct scheduling.

Dave ja Vu is all of the following:

  • 1 hour away from Dave right now
  • 2 hours away from Dave’s correct scheduling)
  • 1 hour away from Dave ja vu’s correct scheduling

@JCHH Ah my apologies for the misunderstanding, I’ll take a look shortly at mine too and let you know what it is here as I’m not running Windows for the server.

Dave

hey, no apologies needed  …I didn’t make myself very clear.

@sa2000 has been quiet today, has he been got by the deluge of complaints that I saw approaching the hill yesterday? It’s crazy the way things have gone, just a shame they didn’t allow for more testing time like a few of us testers suggested, here’s hoping we here more noise from the Plex camp sooner rather than 8

10 days on and like others I still seem to have issues:

001 BBC 1 West Midlands - Plex shows BBC South West logo.
002 BBC 2 - Plex shows BBC Scotland logo with “BBC Scotland Programming” showing all day
003 ITV - Plex shows the ITV West Country logo.
005 5 - 8:00PM shows “The Yorkshire Vet”, whilst Freeview shows “The Great Yorkshire Show Live”. The show includes stars of The Yorkshire Vet so I’m not sure which is correct.
019 Dave - Taskmaster starting at 8:00PM but it should be 9:00PM (I guess everything is an hour out still)
022 Ideal World - Has “Ideal World” showing all day and no specific program data.
033 ITV +1 - ITV text as logo and “To be announced” as program data.
044 5 +1 - 9:00PM shows “The Yorkshire Vet”, whilst Freeview shows “The Great Yorkshire Show Live”.
047 4 Seven - 9:00PM shows “999: What’s Your Emergency”, 10:00PM shows “Let’s Talk About ■■■” and 11:05PM as “Celebrity Gogglebox” whilst Freeview shows “999: What’s Your Emergency”, followed by “Celebrity Gogglebox” and then “Let’s Talk About ■■■” - Times are the same.
049 Jewellery Channel has textual “JEW” logo and program data showing “Unknown Airing”. Freeview shows correct logo and “TJC” for program data.
054 Paramount shows program data as “Radio Programming”.
065 TBN UK has TBN Europe logo and shows program data as “TBN Europe Programming” whilst Freeview has correct logo and appropriate program data.
066 CBS Reality - Program times and show names are incorrect. For example: 8:00PM Cold Justice, 8:50PM Cold Blood, 9:40PM Evil Twins and 10:30PM Minute by Minute where as Freeview has 8:00PM Donal MacIntyre’s Murder Files, 9:00PM Cold Blood, 10:00PM Murder by the Sea and 11:00PM It Takes a Killer.
072 YourTV shows generic textual logo.
073 Sewing Quarter shows generic “GSQR” logo.
079 Dave Ja Vu also 1 hour out - “Taskmaster” starting at 9:00PM as opposed to 10:00PM.
081 Talking Pictures has a generic “TALKINGPIC” textual logo.
085 Hochanda has generic “HOCH” logo.
234 Shows 9:30PM as “Documentary” where as Freeview has “Going Underground”

A lot of the Radio Channels (but not all) have a generic textual logo and/or “Radio Programming” or “To Be Announced” as program data.

I appear to have set my HDHomeRun up as “Freeview-National Lineup United Kingdom OTA Broadcast” rather than choosing a specific regional EPG. Even so I wouldn’t expect regional Scotish, West Country or South West logos/data to show for the national EPG.

Additionally, Movies in the guide don’t appear to be showing any actor information and searching by actor doesn’t appear to be working either. For example: 5 STAR has Transporter Refuelled starting at 9:00PM but no results are shown when I search for Jason Statham for either Live TV & DVR or my library (even though I have a bunch of his movies in my library). Podcasts are showing results though!

As a side note: How do I change to a regional EPG?

Honestly, he (Plex) haven’t communicated anything of use since last week and our requests for transparency on the fix status continues to be completely ignored.

Is there an ETA for resolution of the BBC2 NI issue?

is there an ETA on anything?

OK, 54 Paramount seems to be up (on Freeview Meridian OTA, but hopefully all Freeview OTA) and seems to be OK - need to check a bunch of shows for series/episode accuracy etc.

@sa2000 Is the reason you are not telling us anything because you not getting any information from Plex/provider either? If so, please at least tell us that. I simply do not understand why you can’t give us daily status (investigating / fixing / fixed / ETA xx) against each bad channel. Not answering any of our questions - even with a “sorry, I don’t know, but will check” only adds insult to injury at this point. Talk to us, please?

yep, spoke too soon - sorry, guys.

It’s there, but it appears to be wrong. So the 2nd attempt also appears to be a failure-to-fix.

  • It stops as of Sat 5:30am with “Home and away” 24/7.
  • There is still sections of “radio programming” around midnight where there should be normal programming.
  • Not enough days worth of data to check show accuracy throughout the week

I am sorry but I do not have answers yet.

If the paramount data is now starting to come through then the extent of how much data is available will gradually build up over a number of days

I

@sa2000 It’s not just Paramount now, Dave and Dave Ja Vu are back to front or in English, the EPG data for each of these should be on the other channel… I hope someone else can explain it better than myself???

Dave
