I’ve started seeing that the main terrestrial channels here in the UK (BBC1, BBC2, ITV, Channel 4) are only giving one week ahead in the guide.
BBC1, BBC2 and Channel 4 are only showing 7 days ahead (including today). After that, they show “To Be Announced”.
ITV only seems to be showing data for the coming week, ending on Friday (today is Monday). Either that, or it’s only showing 5 days ahead (including today).
I still have NextPVR installed (this uses Schedules direct which i believe is the same company as Gracenote) and that had empty EPG data for BBC etc from Sat 15th
Looks like an issue with the provider, dont know how to get it fixed though
Ahh at last I have found some others with similar problems.
Windows 10 Server - UK Freeview HD HOMERUN…
Last night i looked at my recordings and I had nothing scheduled today (Saturday 8th) at all and then when I checked nothing was due to record till next Friday 14th… When I look at guide data it is like above To Be Announced. After Friday 14th Data looks fine…
I have tried all normal stuff - reboot, rescanning channels etc.
Funny thing is overnight Saturday evening data has returned and scheduled recordings - however no data this afternoon or Sunday onwards (till 14th)
Only thing I have noticed is that Guide seems to be constantly refreshing… It is currently on 100% optimising database and has been for a few hours…
Well it seems my guide data is being drip fed to me - i now have today’s recordings added up till 10pm - big brother not added yet - nothing else till Friday when listings seem correct.
Not sure if today’s were added after I rebooted or just naturally happened.
Database is still optimising forever. Will keep an eye until this afternoon and reboot if big brother doesn’t get added and see if that forces it … really weird stuff
Mine is fixed after a reboot (or manual update of epg), after that I just slowly get less data, seems like the update isnt working properly
I am sure the overnight update should have added extra data for me, but i am still seeing no data for next Sat onwards, so i need to run a manual update or reboot before then otherwise my guide for these channels will be empty
I have. Of course by doing that you have completed a ‘manual’ download of guide. I had to wait a few days to see that the guide did not include programs that were scheduled. It does not appear to be all channels either. Some are updated whilst others are not.
Hopefully a future PMS update will fix this. Until then I am forced to do a weekly manual download of schedule.
Today is Friday and if I look at Saturday evening it is saying ‘To be announced’ for the main UK channels e.g. BBC1, ITV etc. There are a lot of channels that are ok, but get worse as you go further ahead.
If I force an EPG update it suddenly becomes populated.
One other thing to note is i think it doesn’t matter when you do the manual update. If I had done the manual update yesterday I am sure the EPG would be there for Saturday. I am not sure, but is it possible the auto EPG update each night is only looking to download one days worth of data (to reduce the amount of data that it needs to download), 7 days ahead and not back filling? i.e. If BBC1 published their broadcasts later then Plex is not picking it up. Hope that makes sense to someone .
The manual EPG refresh then updates the entire guide… only a theory?
I’m still having this problem, only a manual refresh updates the BBC guide data. How do we get the attention of the plex dev team we need this looking at.
Yes I am still getting problem but seem further ahead now… My BBC guide data is getting suspect Saturday morning.
I remember from Mediacenter days that BBC don’t have as far ahead as other channels where programming is blocked out 28 days in advance in some cases. BBC always is about 7 days.
The problem was worse for me when it was getting down to next day having no data.
As for getting plex attention I think we just need to hope others see this thread and give problem more gravitas. I do wonder if Plex DVR usage is that big in the UK.
Maybe correct…! Interesting theory. I would be happy downloading full epg every night and an interim update every 1hr… but there seems no way to do this currently
I appear to have resolv d the issue on my system. I did this by deleting the DVR and reinstating. However, this time the “Freeview” mapping of channels was available, this was previously not the case.
This mapping appears to have resolved the problem and all channels are now automatically updating on a daily basis.
Update. - this worked for awhile but BBC channels are once again failing to update. BBC1 currently only has a couple of days of data then it’s "To be announced "
