Watching the current Womens world cup I have noticed issues with playback on UK ITV (Channel 3). Other channels appear to be fine. After a short period the screen jitters and pixelates before playback stops. I have noticed once before with a recording from another channel, More4 I think it was. Possible codec issue? If I force conversion it works fine but with lower quality images. I have both Amazon Fire TV 4K and also Fire TV 4K Max client devices. I use a HDHomerun Quattro as the TV source. Thanks. Paul
I should also add that the app running on the standard 4K Fire TV stick includes an option to Transcode Interlaced Live TV. This solves the problem but the option is not available on the app running on the 4k Max Fire Stick.
I believe that is an OS/device, setting not an app setting. Have you check for OS updates to the Max?

Nope. Update was available but does not resolve the issue. Also, still no option to transcode live TV.
I am not sure what the issue is as it was all fine prior to my recent holiday. I can provide photos etc. of the config and setup if that helps? Thanks. Paul

I can see from the logs that we are not transcoding the ITV Granada Live TV stream and that we do have such setting for the Amazon FireTV 4K to force transcoding for interlaced
We have referred this to the Plex Android app development team

Hi, out of interest where do you see the option to transcode interlaced TV? I’ve checked both my Fire TV 4K and Fire TV 4K MAX sticks and cannot see an option in either the Plex app or FireTV settings 
Hi. I only see that option on the 4K stick, not the Max version. The 4K stick works fine, with the option enabled. In other news my HDHomerun died last night so will be trying a usb tuner first next. Will update once setup to see if the issue persists.
Just added the usb tuner. Tested ITV. Issue persists. Not related to the HDHomerun.
Please tell me how to get to this option, would like to try
On 4k stick (not Max version) goto Plex Settings → Advanced → Transcode interlaced Live TV

Hi, is there any update on this issue? I notice that it is not only restricted to ITV now. Channel 4 and associated channels seem to be suffering the same symptoms.
