My Library works on my computer fine. All the other Plex channels work fine on the TV but the Library on the TV is not accessible. It says it’s currently unavailable and asks if the server is running. It appears to be running because I can access all the other Plex channels. I’ve checked in my Plex account on my WIN desktop and it looks like it’s running to me. I am not having any other problems with my Firestick. I was able to access my Library twice since I set up Plex. All the other times I’ve received this error. Why would it work a few times but not always?
What are the actual models? Westinghouse is not on the list of supported brands. The Sony though depending on the model should work with no issue. I need to know the model number though.
The Sony model is XBR-55X700D. Though it doesn’t matter since it’s not on the list the Westinghouse model is SK-32H640G. But I must mention that both of these TVs have connected to the library on my computer twice on separate days, then they go back to “unavailable”. I have not been able to determine what was different on those days. I had made no changes or adjustments.
I think due to the age of the Sony it’s likely that it isn’t receiving the proper support from Sony anymore. Sometimes the insecure connections workaround works, sometimes it doesn’t. As for the Westinghouse I can’t even find anything about it being a smart TV, so I’m not sure how it was connected to Plex to begin with.
I previously tried the insecure connection and it didn’t work either. Both TVs have a Firestick, so that’s how Plex is connected. But I had Plex on the Sony before I got the Firestick. When I was unable to connect with the Firestick I tried the Plex that came with the TV and it wouldn’t connect either. Is there anyway to get paid support with Plex? if you have the Plex Pass does that get support? I haven’t been able to find any other program that downloads files easily from computer to Firestick. All of the file managers are very confusing. So I’m really desperate to get Plex to transfer, and that’s all I want it for. I don’t watch any of their shows.
Plex is not a platform for transferring files, it is a platform for viewing content from a personal server. It sounds to me that you got Plex expecting it to do something it is not designed for. Please correct me if I am wrong.
I considered my personal server my computer, but I suppose that’s incorrect? I also have a WDMyCloud personal server, but because Plex originally worked from my computer, and the WD is for archived files, I thought I would just continue to use my computer which has my new files. Hooking up the personal server to Plex seemed even more complicated what with determining DNLA, etc., I hoped I could just use my computer. Is that not possible?
