Hi its been awhile. I have used Plex for a long time. I had a problem with my computer updating to a newer OS. My wife was unable to play her games with the update, so we switched computers. In doing this we had to contact Apple and changed our Apple ID. We recently tried getting the mobile app and got the message we had to pay because Plex did not notice our Apple ID. I have been using Plex for 10+ years and this has never happened. Also I can’t do any updates on my server and remote access is not working
Given you’re having a Plex Pass, there should be no dependency to your Apple ID. In anyway it might help if you could sign-out and force-quit the mobile app to see if signing back in will fix whatever might have gotten stuck.
unfortunately due to the pandemic I didn’t renew my yearly Plex pass
it was working before I had Plex pass and after I didn’t renew. again the Plex app (free version) wants me to pay the one time $5 fee. yes its only $5. if that’s what the problem is
The one-time activation (in-app purchase) is linked to your Apple ID, so Plex won’t be able to restore a purchase you made with your original Apple ID. Not sure if Apple might be able to transfer previous purchases from your old Apple ID to the new one.
You can try contacting Plex but from what I’ve been reading they cannot help with that kind of situation.
