Paste the claim token into Plex docker container config and start/restart container.
Everything good again (for me). Pinned libraries still there. Of course, will need to sign-in client Plex apps (and have Tautulli obtain a new token). Plex buddies don’t have to do anything to retain remote streaming access my Plex Media Server libraries.
If it doesn’t work for you I suggest… don’t panic, deep breath and try again in 5 minutes. Best of luck.
Same issue, had to reclaim my server by going to [IP]:32400/web . (I was not able to do it on my main machine that I was already logged in on for some reason, managed to claim it from another client in my local network.)
What is going on?
“We believe the actual impact of this incident is limited” Obviously the impact is NOT limited.
Wouldn’t having your Plex server go unclaimed all of a sudden count as “compromised”? The first thing users are going to do when they reset their password and login is make sure everything looks normal. It sure didn’t for me (and it seems for a lot of other people). Would be nice to not have to panic, so a notice in the e-mail would have been nice.
I hope we get some sort of incident report after this. Having to reset our passwords is serious enough, but these reclaim issues that followed need to be addressed.
totally frustrated. i did try the registry hack to no avail. lost all of my libraries. i sure hope Plex give us some usable instructions on how to get this fixed.
I followed the instructions to a T and lost my server, all of my libraries, everything is gone. I don’t have access to all of the settings I used to and I have no option to enter a “claim code” anywhere. All I did was change my fn password because Plex told us to. This is ridiculous and I want my money back for the lifetime pass if this can’t be fixed. Someone please help!
