Where is your server running on?
Did you download it onto a Windows machine and then save to the linux host ?
Same here, total ■■■■-show. No solution to resolve this issue. Tried other suggestions above, nothing works!!! I don’t feel comfortable deleting Plex and starting again…
I understand. What I am saying is that either
a) The issue with servers being unclaimed is related to the security breach
b) The issue is unrelated and just happened to occur at the same time
c) The password reset or some other action carried out by users or Plex staff caused the issue
If a, information should have been included in the email, if b or c I will be waiting on that incident report.
I deleted Plex and reinstalled. The problem persists. I have nothing now.
A Windows 10 PC
Pull the tar.gz / zip file and get it on the Linux host,
unzip / untar it there (normal bash shell on that host)
as sudo, run it.
Look at the README.md for example & instructions
No Linux. Just a Windows PC.
I don’t have windows PMS (I’m the Linux guy).
I can try to spin up one here quick if you’ll give me a bit.
I am running QNAP - 1.42.1.10060-4e8b05daf
I cannot seem to find README.md in my folder: /share/CE_CACHEDEV3_DATA/.qpkg/PlexMediaServer
Can you post the contents here?
EDIT: Fixed using the UserCredentialReset script linked below
sudo bash ./UserCredentialReset.sh -p “/var/lib/plexmediaserver/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Preferences.xml”
Similar symptoms, running Plex on an ubuntu LXC container, no docker.
- I reset my password, enabled 2fa
- In an incognito window I go to http://localhost:32401/web/index.html#!/settings/web/general (I run on a non-standard port)
- I go through the login successfully
- In settings I have no Server option
- Running server version 1.42.2.10102-50deb00d9
- I’ve tried removing the “PlexOnline” keys from my preferences.xml
- If I go to Home > More I can see my server but it just shows Unauthorized
Fixed: I’m using TrueNAS. After stopping Plex, in the configuration options I added a new claim token.
The README.md file is here
If you enable the Public share (Control Panel)
You’ll have /share/Public at the command line.
THAT NEEDED TO BE ON THE RESET PAGE
What document are you referring to?
@ChuckPa My Synology PMS is still a mess. What am I/we supposed to do to resolve this?
I’m going to drop this here, in case it helps some folks. This should work for anyone running a Linux (or FreeBSD) based operating system, with SSH access (this includes NAS devices). As stated in the link, by tunneling via SSH and browsing via localhost (127.0.0.1) the claim process should be more or less automatic.
Read the post and the linked article. Make sure you understand both. If you don’t have SSH enabled on your NAS device, you may need to. And you need to know the user name and password.
