Unable to access TIDAL from Plex

Hello all,

I recently purchased TIDAL though Plex at the discounted price and linked it though my account settings, but when I try to listen to TIDAL on any of my devices it does not recognize that I have a subscription and only plays the preview

I have a tidal subscription for years now. I’m experiencing the same problem on my devices for some days now. Plex is just playing the 30-minute-samples. I checked my account and its still active.

I hope for a solution because I don’t want to pay for a service that’s not working!

Here is a procedure for you to try:

  1. Go to your https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/online-media-sources account page and disable the Music/TIDAL provider
  2. On your Sign In | Plex account page, unlink TIDAL, and then link it fresh
  3. Back on the Online Media Sources page, enable the Music/TIDAL provider again
  4. Wait 10 minutes for the changes to propagate
  5. Restart (e.g. force-quit and launch) the player app

I get the above message

It seemed like it worked. Not sure how or why but, it seems back the way it was. It works with the web Plex server not with the player. I am still getting the message with the player

i am in the same boat, i’ll wait a couple of days. tidal shows free account and plex shows the premium.

okay, so i need help. it still just shows music previews. it has been about a week and tidal isn’t synced or something.


I am not a Linux user, but I seem to remember that you have to explicitly enable Widevine DRM support on that platform. (Or re-enable it, if you explicitly disabled it previously).
TIDAL (or any other streaming media provider) won’t work without DRM.

Oh this is on the web, Android Apps, and windows desktop app.it is like they aren’t linked or something

I just signed up for an account a few days ago, and I am experiencing this on Android TVs using remotely. Everything is fine on the Android phone using Plexamp wherever I am, and all of my Roku devices at home.
Would really like to use the service at the girlfriend’s house when I’m there.

This same problem showed up again this week. I am not sure what changed but if I try to play Tidal through Plex I get this message.

I tried unlinking, re-linking, disabling and re-enabling Tidal. Nothing is working.

Any Ideas? I am about to bail as it seems to be too much work to keep it working. The link is very fragile

IDK why but it gives me the 404 error
